Similar to Hydrophobic Fluid 51T Silicone Waterproof Agent Produced by SILIBASE SILICONE.SilibasePMS-1647 water repellent is a water-dilutable solution of potassium methyl siliconate designed to impart water repellency to a wide variety of surfaces. Supplied at a concentration of 47 percent in water.
SilibasePMS-1647 water repellent is usually diluted to a concentration of 3 percent or less before application.
SilibasePMS-1647 water repellent reacts with carbon dioxide in the air to form an insoluble water-resistant treatment within 24 hours.
Character & Property:
This product should be diluted with water while using. It’s applied in material handling of stone, brick, tile, ceramic, perlite, cement mortar, gypsum and fiber plasterboard materials, especially of porous materials, to be waterproof in the surface and reduce water absorption. It’s of permeability and absorbability, and can keep the natural appearance of the substrate without changing the original color and appearance. It can react with CO2 or other acidic compounds to form a layer of insoluble mesh breathable waterproof membrane on the substrate surface, has excellent effects of waterproofing, seepage proofing, moisture proofing, rust proofing, anti-aging, anti-pollution. It can avoid water absorption in the substrate, thus reducing peeling off caused by freezing and thawing and weathering, increasing substrate life. It’s of simple construction, low cost, lasting effect, abrasion resistance, scrub resistance, high and low temperature resistance.

Usage
Replacement product for Hydrophobic Fluid 51T with Nonflammable.
As a surface treatment SilibasePMS-1647 is diluted to a concentration of 3 percent solids or less prior to application.
Do not use concentrations higher than 3 percent solids unless prior testing indicates a necessity. The use of higher concentrations than required may result in the formation of a white residue on the surface. Users should test the concentration to be applied on the substrate prior to use.
After application of the silicone solution, allow the treated surface to dry for at least 24 hours to develop maximum water repellency. This interval may be shortened somewhat by force-drying at temperatures up to 175℃. While this removes the water quickly, time must be allowed for the curing reaction between SilibasePMS-1647 and the surface being treated. Carbon dioxide streams do not appear to reduce the cure time appreciably.
